RECYCLED TRASHURE
RECYCLED TRASHURE is a series of sculptures made of recycled plastic. These sculptures include chandeliers, shells and fish tanks.
The chandelier PLASTIC ARMAGEDDON was acquired by the Ulrich Seibert Collection in 2020 for the Gallery Weekend Berlin. It is entirely made of collected plastic trash to show the current topic of plastic waste in the world. The intention of this chandelier is to shine colorful light in many different directions used by the recycled plastic parts.
During Berlin Art Week 2018, the installation RECYCLED TRASHURE was shown at Window of Modern Art (WoMA) addressing the current topic of plastic waste in the oceans.
Included in RECYCLED TRASHURE is DROWNING TRASHURE, a large-scale assemblages of collected plastic penetrating a shell.
Polluting plastic materializes the drastic issue of environmental protection of the ocean. DROWNING TRASHURE addresses the sad irony of pearl divers finding colorful plastic instead of shimmering shells. Keimeyer collects the trash objects for the artworks while kayaking on the river Spree in Berlin and across Europe.
The TRASHURE TANK aquarium was exhibited at Monumenta in Leipzig in 2018.
The chandelier TRASHURE 2 was exhibited in the private collection of Alexander von Vegesack (former director of the Vitra Design Museum) called “Adventure with Objects” in Pinacoteca Agnelli, Museum, Turino, Italy, March 2008, and various international exhibitions such as “Luminous Times – Sustainable Architecture”, France in collaboration Vitra Design Museum and Centre Pompidou.
